So I firmly believe that music is a cure for just about anything. And when it comes to emotional state of mind, music plays and integral role. It can change your mood instantly.
Lately, meaning this past week, I have had a bit of a rough time. Because of that, I have been in major need of Happy music. That and rock/punk music (used as a distraction aka The Strokes, The Ramones, The Killers... im sensing a pattern here).
Here is my "Pick-me-up Mix"
1. Better- Regina Spektor
2. Waiting for a star to fall- Boy Meets Girl
3. Send me on my way- Rusted Root
4. King of Anything- Sara Bareilles
5. Smile- Lily Allen
6. Ordinary Day- Vanessa Carlton
7. Here- Hellogoodbye
8. Unwritten- Natasha Bedingfield

GaGa for The Strokes!
So The Strokes new album came out like a month or so ago and it is amazing!!
Quite similar to Julian's solo album, which is another fantastic album, but still true to their garage band sound.
This video is Grrreat! Its a song from Casablancas's solo album.

A visit to God's Country (...Iowa, road trip pt.2)
So a buddy of mine and I left our Nation's capital at 12:30AM!! ya ya I know crazy. BUT there was a good reason behind it that justifies the crazy time. The trip is about 16hrs (EeeeKkk) so we wanted to get there at a decent hour.
SIDE TRIP to Riverside, IA ... and Yes you're reading that sign correctly. We did visit the future birth place of thee James Tiberius Kirk. Jealous??! My inner Star Trek nerdy self was so excited to see this. OH did I mention that there was also a museum?

WTF?!
What are the teaching people in God's Country??
Someone please explain this one to me haha
Road Trip pt.1 round-up
Here are a few pictures I took while I was up in the Hamptons.
We were staying in West Hampton Beach. Gorgeous area!
Looking out from the living before I went for a beach run.
So this nasty looking creature is a Horseshoe Crab.
It TOTALLY reminds me of the creatures from Aliens.
Serious though, right?!
Thought is was gonna jump up and attack me.
Again, another picture I took during my run.
It was just so beautiful.

As I was running back to the house the clouds broke open and the sale el sol!
That there is NO photoshop.
